Setting up.
Move it to Applications
Open the download and drag CmdPad into your Applications folder. Keeping it there is what lets the permission stick.
Open it — look for the grid
No window appears. A small grid in the menu bar means it's ready.
Allow Accessibility
System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, then switch on CmdPad. This is what lets it press keys for you.
Pair with six digits
Click the menu bar icon to see your code, and type it into the app once.
If something isn't right.
I press a button and nothing happens
Almost always Accessibility. Click the menu bar icon — if it mentions the permission, click through to the right settings pane and switch CmdPad on.
If it already looks switched on, the entry may be left from an earlier version. Select CmdPad in that list, remove it with the minus button, then reopen the app and allow it again.
My phone can't find the Mac
Both need to be on the same Wi‑Fi network. Some office and campus networks keep devices from reaching each other — to check, connect your Mac to your iPhone's hotspot and try once more.
If you declined Local Network access when the app first opened, turn it back on in Settings → CmdPad.
There's no icon in my menu bar
A crowded menu bar can hide it. Leave full screen or tidy a few items away. To confirm it's running, look for CmdPad in Activity Monitor.
How do I remove it?
Drag CmdPad from Applications to the Trash, and remove it from the Accessibility list in System Settings.
